About the Circle

Born of a simple conviction

That good taste is best kept in company — and that a city with Calcutta's appetite for conversation deserved a table of its own.

Origin

The Circle was convened under The Sovereign Table Holdings as a private society for those who take their tastings, and their company, seriously. It exists apart from the city's clubs and restaurants — smaller, slower, and built around a shared calendar rather than a shared address.

Philosophy

We hold that connoisseurship is a practice, not a possession. Every gathering is designed to teach as much as it indulges — guided by mentors, hosted by partners who share the same regard for craft, and kept deliberately small.
